Size guide
Bust circumference is the measurement around the fullest part of your bust. This measurement is used to choose the sweater size that is right for you.
Sweater bust circumference is the measurement all the way around the sweater at the fullest part, around the bust. It indicates the sweater’s finished size and can be compared with your bust circumference to assess how loosely or closely the sweater will fit.
Positive ease means that the sweater’s finished bust circumference is larger than your bust circumference. The difference provides extra room and creates a looser fit. The greater the positive ease, the looser the sweater will typically fit.
Negative ease means that the sweater’s finished bust circumference is smaller than your bust circumference. The sweater will therefore stretch when worn and fit more closely to the body. Negative ease is typically used for close-fitting sweaters.
Example:
Sizes: [XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL]
Sweater bust circumference: [93, 98, 104, 111, 120, 131, 142] cm
Recommended bust circumferences: [75–78, 78–82, 82–90, 90–98, 98–107, 107–119, 119–131] cm
The sweater is designed to have 16–18 cm of positive ease.
Your bust circumference is 103 cm. According to the pattern, you should knit size L, which has a finished bust circumference of 120 cm. The difference between your bust circumference and the sweater’s bust circumference is 17 cm (120 − 103 = 17 cm). The sweater therefore has 17 cm of positive ease.
